Dharamshala, July 23, 2025: A tragic incident has come to light in Himachal Pradesh’s Kangra district. This afternoon, the body of an unidentified youth was recovered from the stream (a small mountain river) flowing in the lower reaches of Dharamshala’s famous Bhagsu Waterfall. The incident has caused a stir in the area, and the police have launched an investigation.
Circumstances of the Body’s Discovery:
According to information provided by local residents, some passersby spotted a body in the stream and immediately informed the police. Upon receiving the information, a local police team and an SDRF (State Disaster Response Force) team quickly arrived at the scene. After considerable effort, the body was retrieved from the water.
Identification and Investigation:
The deceased youth has not yet been identified. According to the police, the body has been sent for post-mortem examination to determine the cause of death and facilitate identification. The police are also checking missing persons’ reports in nearby areas to identify the deceased.
Cause of Death Currently Unknown:
It is not yet clear how the youth died. Initially, it is suspected that he might have been swept away by the strong currents of the stream or fallen victim to an accident. The police are investigating the matter from all angles, including whether there is any criminal aspect or if it was merely a tragic accident.

During these days, due to heavy rainfall, the water level and flow in streams and nullahs increase unpredictably, which can be extremely dangerous. The police and local administration are continuously advising tourists and local residents to stay away from such dangerous places and remain safe.
